The first ever pop-up community dining event Mission Alfresco was off to a great start in the Everson Plaza on Friday September 14th. Over 200 participants arrived in RED, assembled their tables, and settled in to enjoy an evening of al fresco community dining and entertainment. The storm clouds didn’t deter guests from having fun, and when the rain came some participants even moved their tables to perch in the fountain. Mission Alfresco 2012 was definitely a unique pop-up dining event, that’s for sure!

The streets of Syracuse looked very different in 1887 when a small group of churchmen saw the need to save souls amongst the saloons, dance halls and disorderly houses along Syracuse’s Railroad Street. Their mission then and our mission today continues to be to have a life changing impact on those we serve.
During this year, we will celebrate by engaging “everyone to do something;”embrace who we are, tout the depth and breadth of our services in the community and create an opportunity to refresh our positive impact and message. We will reach out to our friends, donors, volunteers, supporters, and many new friends. Our goal is to engage 125,000 people during the year long celebrations that will be held in the communities that we serve: Syracuse, Auburn, and Binghamton.12 marks 125 years of our dedication to changing lives. We hope that you will celebrate with us.
So, please join us by attending an event that speaks to your heart, by getting involved in one of the 125 ways to support the Rescue Mission. Together we can change lives.
