In celebration of the Rescue Mission’s 125th Anniversary, we invite you to join us for an exciting outdoor dining experience that will prove to be the event sensation of the year.

Step 2: Set up your dining space.

Quick Overview: For a $20 admission, you have the privilege to participate in a DIY (do it yourself) outdoor dining event in a public space in Syracuse (the location will be kept secret until the day of the event, at 4:00p.m. we will send you a text/email revealing the location).

Step 3: Enjoy a lovely evening of outdoor dining.

The idea is that all participants (dressed in red) will converge on the revealed location at 6:00pm bringing with you a 3 course picnic meal, table, chairs, red linen and table settings. You will then set up your dining area and enjoy the rest of the evening with friends in a lovely setting and with great entertainment (we provide the entertainment).

The Rules of Red:
1. Bring your Table and Chairs:
We suggest a card table for 2 people or a banquet table 4 or more. Tables must be covered with a red tablecloth. Chairs should be solid folding chairs, NOT nylon “bag chairs.” Be creative and go for red chairs.  (We painted 2 metal folding chairs red and they look fabulous.)

Need Help? We know people are busy, so, although we encourage you to be creative and bring your own items, we are offering tables and chairs that you may reserve when reserving your tickets (Starting at $25 for 2 people).

Be creative and follow the Rules of Red

Food and Beverages: Bring your 3 course picnic meal consisting of an appetizer course, entree course, and dessert. Bring your own non-alcoholic beverages. Wine is allowed, but must be purchased via the website registration ($20 per bottle).

Need Help? You may order a picnic basket from us if you prefer via the website registration. Each basket prepared by Diamond Catering serves 2 people. Cost is $40 or $60. See menu option below.

Waste Removal: Please bring your own white bag and dispose of any waste at home.

Tableware: Bring your own table settings. china, flatware, stemware, napkins. We encourage you to bring a centerpiece (candles are allowed). We prefer no paper and definitely NO Styrofoam (it’s so environmentally unfriendly) Red is the predominate color so please keep this in mind when planning your dining accessories.

Dress Code: As the saying goes, “When in doubt, wear Red.” Please attire yourself with Red being the predominant color. Imagine what the event will look like with everyone dressed in Red. Hats and creative attire are permitted and encouraged, keeping in mind that we are striving for a classy evening.

Conduct Code:  Guests are expected to be respectful of the event space and their fellow diners. You must remain until the end of the evening and your presence is required, rain or shine. (We have a back-up plan if the weather is inclement.)

Parking: We have taken into consideration that you will be carrying items with you, so parking will be plentiful and nearby as well as a drop-off location where you can unload before parking your vehicle. We will also have volunteers to assist anyone needing assistance.
